Motorola Moto G6 Play could feature Face Detection suggests Geekbench listing

Motorola is working on a number of smartphones and it is no secret. The rumor mill has lately been quite active with Motorola's Moto G6 series. As per the information we have obtained so far, the G6 series will include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play. Yes, the company is apparently bringing back the Play variant this year.

Thanks to leaksters, we already know what to expected from the upcoming Motorola smartphones in terms of specifications. That said, leaks and rumors often turn out to be false. Benchmark listings, on the other hand, are considered more authentic. Well, the Moto G6 Play has just appeared on Geekbench, confirming some of its key specs and features.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Moto G6 Play will arrive pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Talking about the hardware, the smartphone is apparently powered by the msm8937, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The Snapdragon 430 comprises of eight cores that are clocked at 1.4GHz and its GPU is the Adreno 505. The benchmark listing further reveals, the Motorola smartphone has 3GB RAM.

On Geekbench, the Moto G6 Play achieved a single-core score of 472 points and a multi-core score of 1,801 points. Notbaly, the listing suggets the smartphone could come with Face Detection technology.

Earlier reports have suggested that the Moto G6 Play will be fitted with a 16:9 display. However, if we believe a leaked screenshot of the smartphone's HTML5 test, it could sport a 5.7-inch FHD+ display with the trending aspect ratio of 18:9.

As far as other specifications go, the Moto G6 Play is likely to come in two memory variants. The basic one will feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the higher variant will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of default storage space.

The smartphone is said to pack a large 4,000mAh battery under the hood, which could probably be its key highlight. Unlike the other two phones in the G6 lineup, the Moto G6 Play will be equipped with a single rear camera. When it comes to design, the handset could have some notable changes like narrower bezels and lack of a physical home button.

While Motorola has not scheduled any events for MWC 2018, the Moto G6 lineup including the Moto G6 Play could get unveiled at the upcoming tech show.
