Motorola, the Lenovo-owned company, today announced their first ever metal-clad smartphone, the Moto M in India. Priced at Rs. 15,999, the smartphone competes with the likes of Lenovo Z2 Plus and Lenovo K4 Note.
The Moto M was originally announced in China last month, and the company teased the phone last week on their official Twitter handle. There are several firsts in the smartphone. The Moto M is the first Moto phone to sport a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and also the first Moto device to boast a metal body.
Diving into the specifications of the smartphone, it comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, which is an octa-core chip with all the cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The handset comes in two RAM variants - one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and the other one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Regarding the camera, the Motorola Moto M packs a 16MP rear facing camera along with dual LED flash and PDAF. Also, there is an 8MP sensor on the front, which helps in selfies and video calls. The Moto M is armed with a 3,050mAh battery and boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
As said earlier, the Moto M will be available in India at Rs. 15,999 exclusively via Flipkart from December 14. Motorola, in collaboration with Flipkart India, is offering some exciting launch offers.
