Motorola seems to be following the footprints of Xiaomi. The Lenovo-owned company has already launched five devices combined under the Moto G series and the newly created Moto Z series.
It seems like the company hasn't done yet. Two new smartphones namely the Moto M and Moto M Plus have been certified by TENAA and also visited the benchmark site GFXBench confirming all the specs.

Metal Body
The images of the Moto M clearly show that the smartphones will come with metal bodies. If it happens so, then they will be the first Motorola smartphones to feature a metal body.
Rear-Mounter Fingerprint Scanner
The fingerprint scanner on Motorola smartphones till date has been placed on the frontal part of the smartphone, however, images suggest that the Moto M and M Plus will feature rear-mounted fingerprint scanners.
A 4.6-inch Display on Moto M and 5.5-inch Display on M Plus
The GFXBench's leaked specifications show that the smaller variant will be the Moto M and it will feature a 4.6-inch 1080p display which is same as the 2013 Moto X.
On the other hand, the Moto M Plus is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display which might also be a 1080p resolution.
MediaTek MT6750 Chipset for Moto M
The GFXBench report shows that the Moto M will be powered by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, out of which only 25GB will be available for the user.
Also, there are no words on which chipset will the Moto M Plus uses. It might use the same chip as the Moto M.
16MP Rear Camera and 8MP Front Facing Camera
There will be a 16MP rear-facing camera on the Moto M which can record 4K videos and an 8MP front facing camera will be seen on the front which can record FHD videos.
Bigger Battery on Moto M Plus
The Moto M Plus might get a battery bump when compared to Moto M. It is widely expected that the Moto M Plus will be packed with a 3,000mAh battery and the Moto M might get a smaller battery with 2,700mAh capacity.
Android 6.0/Google Play Edition
This is interesting. The GFXBench report shows that the Moto M will be a Google Play Edition smartphone with Android 6.0 on-board. There are now Google Play Edition devices for a while now and we might expect this as a wrong specification.
Pricing and Availability
According to TechDroider, the Moto M, and Moto M Plus will be exclusively for Asian markets. It means that it will be available in countries such as China, India, etc.
However, there are no words regarding the pricing of the smartphones. We might expect that the phone will be launched between the $200 and $250 price point.
