Motorola Razr Fold Launched in India: Price Starts at ₹1,49,999; FIFA World Cup Edition Also Announced

Motorola has launched the Razr Fold in India, marking the company’s first foldable smartphone in the country. Alongside the standard variants, Motorola also introduced a FIFA World Cup ’26 Collection edition with a custom design and gold-plated branding.

The foldable focuses heavily on durability, multitasking, cameras, and battery life.

Big Displays and Slim Design

The Razr Fold features a large 8.1-inch 2K LTPO internal display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. On the outside, there’s a 6.56-inch LTPO cover display with up to 165Hz refresh rate.

Motorola says the phone uses a stainless steel teardrop hinge along with a titanium inner screen plate to reduce creasing and improve durability. The company is also claiming this is the first smartphone with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection.

The device measures 4.6mm when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded. It also supports tent mode and laptop mode for multitasking and media viewing.

FIFA World Cup Edition Gets a Custom Finish

Motorola’s FIFA World Cup ’26 Collection version comes with a textured rear panel inspired by football materials, bold “26” branding, and the official FIFA World Cup logo finished in 24K gold plating.

It’s clearly aimed at collectors and football fans rather than being just another color option.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Triple 50MP Cameras

The Razr Fold is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.

For cameras, Motorola has included:

• 50MP main camera
• 50MP ultra-wide and macro camera
• 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom

The phone also supports 8K video recording and AI-powered 100x zoom features.

Motorola is promising seven Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, which is becoming increasingly important in premium foldables.

Large Battery and AI Features

One thing that stands out is the 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is unusually large for a foldable smartphone.

Charging support includes:

• 80W wired fast charging
• 50W wireless charging
• 5W reverse charging

The software also includes Motorola’s “moto ai” tools for notification summaries and transcription, alongside integrations for Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity AI.

Price and Availability

The Motorola Razr Fold starts at ₹1,49,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 16GB + 512GB model costs ₹1,59,999. The FIFA World Cup ’26 Edition is priced at ₹1,69,999.

The phone is now up for preorder and will go on sale from May 20 at 12PM through Flipkart, Motorola.in, Reliance Digital, and other retail stores.
