Motorola has officially unveiled the Motorola Signature 27, its latest premium smartphone, at the Snapdragon Summit. The launch is notable because the Signature 27 is the first smartphone officially introduced with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Mobile Platform, placing Motorola's new flagship at the forefront of Qualcomm's next-generation mobile hardware.

Motorola is positioning the Signature 27 as the most advanced smartphone it has ever developed, with a combination of flagship performance, AI-powered features, advanced cameras, premium audio and a new cooling system.

Motorola Signature 27 brings Gemini AI features

Artificial intelligence is a major part of the Motorola Signature 27 experience. The smartphone comes with Google Gemini as a personal AI assistant, allowing users to do more than simply ask questions or generate information.

Gemini can help with tasks such as planning an outing, finding event tickets and making dinner reservations. Motorola also highlights deeper integration with apps and services, allowing the AI assistant to perform more useful tasks based on user prompts and context.

The phone also introduces AI-powered creative tools. Gemini Omni can transform prompts, photos or existing videos into more polished video content, while Gemini Lyria allows users to create original music using AI.

Motorola Signature 27 Gets 50MP and 200MP Cameras

The camera setup is another major highlight of the Motorola Signature 27. The phone features a 50MP primary camera with a Sony LYTIA sensor, which Motorola says is designed to deliver rich colours, high clarity and deep contrast.

The primary camera is paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera for long-range photography. Motorola says the high-resolution telephoto sensor is designed to capture greater detail when photographing distant subjects such as landscapes and architecture.

The smartphone also features Motorola's Video Enhancement Engine, which uses AI to analyse scenes and adjust colour tones while recording. The company says this is designed to produce more natural-looking colours and contribute to what it describes as professional-grade video results.

First Motorola Phone with Bang & Olufsen Audio

Audio is another area where Motorola is taking a different approach. The Signature 27 is the first Motorola smartphone to feature Audio by Bang & Olufsen (B&O), following the company's partnership with the premium audio brand.

Motorola says the Signature 27 will be the only phone to use B&O sound as part of the current arrangement. Details about the duration or scope of this exclusivity have not been disclosed.

ArcticMesh Cooling System Keeps the Snapdragon Chip Cool

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is designed for demanding workloads, including gaming and extended AI processing. To manage heat, Motorola has equipped the Signature 27 with its ArcticMesh cooling system.

The system combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber. Motorola says the new vapour chamber is 40 percent larger than before, helping dissipate heat during demanding tasks such as gaming, extended AI sessions and prolonged video streaming.

Motorola Promises Seven Years of Software Support

Long-term software support is another key feature of the Signature 27. Motorola says the smartphone will receive seven OS updates and up to seven years of security updates, with the support period beginning from the device's global launch date.

The Signature 27 will be available globally later this year in two finishes: PANTONE Coal Smoke with a Tactical Weave finish and PANTONE Capulet Green with a brushed textile-inspired finish.

Motorola has yet to reveal the complete pricing and availability details for all markets. More information is expected closer to the smartphone's global release.
