Mozilla to stop selling Firefox OS Smartphones
After a short experimenting spree Mozilla has now officially announced that they will stop working on their own Mobile OS aka the Firefox OS. In the recent past the Firefox OS had found its place in a number of ultra-budget smartphones.
Apparently the company which shot to fame thanks to its Mozilla Firefox browser has stated that they will stop offering Firefox OS smartphones through carrier channels. Mozilla is defending their move by stating that they have realized that the Firefox OS has failed to deliver best user experience possible on smartphones and hence they are backing out from the plan. In the hindsight though it seems that Mozilla is trying to cut down losses and stop diving deep into the smartphone development business.

One of the few major cons of the Firefox OS lied in the fact that it had very few number of apps in the App store thanks to the developers paying more attention to brighter pastures of Android and iOS. In fact the Firefox OS ran only web apps and no native apps to speak off. This issue was further aggravated by the fact that none of the Firefox OS smartphones failed to sale well in the market despite touting ultra-low price tags.
However Mozilla's SVP, Connected Devices Ari Jaaksi claims that the Firefox OS may still live on but only on other Conned devices or IoT (Internet of Things) network.
