Apparently the company which shot to fame thanks to its Mozilla Firefox browser has stated that they will stop offering Firefox OS smartphones through carrier channels. Mozilla is defending their move by stating that they have realized that the Firefox OS has failed to deliver best user experience possible on smartphones and hence they are backing out from the plan. In the hindsight though it seems that Mozilla is trying to cut down losses and stop diving deep into the smartphone development business.

In fact the Firefox OS ran only web apps and no native apps to speak off. This issue was further aggravated by the fact that none of the Firefox OS smartphones failed to sale well in the market despite touting ultra-low price tags.
