Mysterious Lenovo branded smartphone photo appears online

We are expecting great things in 2018, especially in the smartphone world. We will definitely be seeing a lot of new innovations and more significantly a new trend will arise. While manufacturers will be busy this year, it looks like Lenovo is also working on reviving its ZUK brand after it had announced that it will stop manufacturing ZUK branded phones to concentrate on Moto phones in April 2017.

To recall Lenovo ZUK Edge might have been the last ZUK phone that was launched way back in December 2016. But it now appears that the company is working on something in the same brand line. Well, ZUK Mobile CEO has now shared an image of a mysterious Lenovo smartphone on Weibo. As far as speculations go this could be a ZUK phone that will arrive to probably resurrect the brand from its dormant state.

On analyzing the leaked image, the handset features a metallic rear with an arc design. There is the logo of the company at the bottom of the back panel. However, that is pretty much that we can make out from the image. While the details are scarce, we are investigating this case and will be following it closely.

Meanwhile, as mentioned above the ZUK brand was reportedly closed in December 2016. But rumors seem to pop up here and there suggesting that the company was working on a ZUK handset and that it could launch ZUK Z3 in the market. However, nothing had happened till now.

Earlier Vice President of Lenovo Group Chang Cheng was also moved to Mobil Business Group in China in order to restructure smartphone business in the country. Since he now holds the position of Product Planning Manager for Lenovo Group in China, many are of the opinion that the company under his leadership may resurrect the popular ZUK brand. At present, Lenovo is no longer making ZUK devices, but the ZUI Android skin is available on Moto branded phones in China.
