New Nokia 6, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco launched in India: Price, specifications and features

New set of Nokia smartphones - Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco and the new Nokia 6 (2018) have been launched in India. The sale debuts from April 6.

HMD Global has launched the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco at the event held in New Delhi today. All these are Android One smartphones unveiled at the MWC 2018 tech show in February along with the Nokia 1, the Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone launched in India for Rs. 5,499 and the Nokia 8110 4G feature phone.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is priced at Rs. 49,999 and the Nokia 7 Plus is priced at Rs. 25,999. The pre-order of these two smartphones debuts on April 20. The new Nokia 6 is priced at Rs. 16,999 and the sale debuts April 6. There are attractive cash back offers and discounts with these smartphones.

 

Nokia 6 (2018) specs

Nokia 6 (2018) boasts of a 5.5-inch FHD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and makes use of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage space, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The imaging aspects include a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, Zeiss optics and dual-tone LED flash. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Nokia 6 packs connectivity aspects such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C. The device gets the power from a 3000mAh battery offering up to 16 hours of talk time and up to 507 hours of standby time. This smartphone could carry an affordable price tag of around Rs. 16,000.

Nokia 7 Plus

Nokia 7 Plus bestows a 6-inch FHD+ IPS display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device employs an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity expandable up to 256GB. Connectivity aspects include 4G VoLTE, NFC, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm audio jack and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. There is a 3800mAh battery with support for fast charging.

The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a dual-rear camera module comprising of a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture and wide-angle lens and a 13MP secondary sensor with 2x optical zoom and f/2.6 aperture. The dual-camera setup from Zeiss optics comes with dual-tone LED flash as well. Up front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and Zeiss optics. The Nokia 7 Plus is likely to carry a price tag of Rs. 24,999 in India.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

Nokia 8 Sirocco comes fitted with a 5.5-inch pOLED display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There is an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space, which can be further expanded. There is a dual-camera setup similar to the one on the Nokia 7 Plus and a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The other aspects of the Nokia 8 Sirocco include Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, NFC and a 3260mAh battery. This smartphone is expected to be priced around Rs. 45,000.

13:35:57: Nokia 8 Sirocco is priced at Rs. 49,999 and the pre-booking starts from April 20 via select retail stores across India. When it comes to online, the smartphone will be available via Nokia's own store and Flipkart. Airtel users will get 120GB of additional data, which is split as 20GB additional data on the first 6 recharges of Rs. 199 and Rs. 349. The same offer is available for the postpaid users with the Rs. 399 and Rs. 499 plans for 6 months. There is extended free subscription to Airtel TV app until December 31, 2018. There is 5% cash back for the ICICI Bank customers, no-cost EMI and MakeMyTrip discount on hotel bookings.

Nokia 7 Plus is priced at Rs. 25,999 and the pre-booking starts April 20 via the Nokia shop website, Amazon India and retail outlets. Airtel offers Rs 2,000 cash back. It comes with an extended subscription to Airtel TV app, ICICI Bank customers will get 5% cashback and no-cost EMIs are also there.

New Nokia 6 is priced at Rs. 16,999 and the availability starts April 6 from Nokia shop and other leading stores. There is Rs. 2000 cash back from Airtel and extended Airtel TV subscription. It comes with the MakeMyTrip hotel bookings discount, a complimentary 12-month accidental damage insurance, no-cost EMI options and cash back on ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finserv cards.

13:12:57: All these smartphones have Face Unlock, Android One based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and Pro Camera mode.
