According to Canadian carrier Rogers' OS Upgrade Schedule, Nexus 6P might receive the Android Oreo update in a few days. The upgrade has supposedly been scheduled for September 11, 2017.
Google Pixel and Pixel XL received the Oreo update just a couple of days back and there has been no report whatsoever of Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X receiving the upgrade. Earlier Google had released the Oreo update for only those smartphones that were enrolled in Android beta program.
There have also been reports that Huawei and LG need to make amendments to few components of Nexus 6P including radio firmware, in order to get the device ready for Android Oreo. Huawei and LG are also responsible for networking testing of the device and if the aforementioned reports are in fact true the Nexus 6P will receive the update on the reported date.
There are reports that suggest that the update will be a point release and Oreo 8.0.1 will hit the Nexus 6P as early as next week. Whether or not the device will allow users to get the update smoothly depends upon the prior updates for the device.
Android Oreo promises to offer several features to device that includes smart selection and picture-in-picture mode. Recent reports also suggest that the latest Android version will offer a rigid privacy and security protection to users.
