No More ‘Plus’? Samsung Might Replace Galaxy S26 Plus with S26 Edge Model
While Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Plus this year, a new report suggests the company might discontinue the "Plus" model in its flagship Galaxy S series. Starting with the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup, the South Korean brand is expected to introduce an "Edge" model in its place.
Samsung May Replace 'Plus' Variant with Edge Model
This year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra, with the Edge model making a separate debut. However, a new report from The Elec claims that Samsung will bring three models for the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup - the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This indicates that the Plus variant may be discontinued, with the thinner and sleeker Edge model set to take its place.

The publication further reveals that the standard Galaxy S26 will feature a 6.27-inch display, the S26 Edge will have a 6.66-inch screen, and the S26 Ultra will come with a larger 6.89-inch display.
To recall, the Galaxy S25 Edge measures just 5.8mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest S-series phones Samsung has ever produced. It weighs only 163 grams and features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. With reports suggesting that the Galaxy S26 Edge will come with a slightly smaller 6.66-inch display, the next-generation model could be more compact than its predecessor.
As of now, the South Korean tech giant hasn't revealed any info regarding the next-gen Galaxy S26 series. However, the latest report also states that mass production of components for the Galaxy S26 series is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with the official launch likely to take place early next year.
