No Snapdragon 730G-Powered Redmi Note 8 Pro In Works

As soon as the Redmi Note 8 Pro was launched in China with MediaTek's Helio G90T, rumors started to surface on the launch of a forked version of the Note 8 Pro with the Snapdragon 730G SoC, AMOLED display, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, Anuj Sharma, head of marketing, Xiaomi India has officially put an end to these speculations.

In a tweet, Anuj confirmed that the company is not working on a new iteration of the Redmi Note 8 Pro based on the Snapdragon 730G with a single world -- nope. In a similar move, Lu Weibing, president, Redmi also confirmed on Weibo that the company will not launch a Qualcomm chipset-powered Note 8 Pro.

The Snapdragon 730G-based Redmi Note 8 Pro took some shape after the announcement of the Realme XT 730G which was powered by the Snapdragon 730G. Plus, an upcoming Redmi smartphone with the model number M1912G7BE/M1912G7BC was also spotted on the 3C certification site with the same chipset which was believed to be the revamped Redmi Note 8 Pro.

If you were expecting a flagship Redmi Note with a Qualcomm chipset, then you might have to wait at least until late 2020 for the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Xiaomi Might Not Launch Any New Phone In 2019

The company has already launched almost all the smartphones it was expected to launch in 2019, except the Poco F2. Though there is no proper evidence to prove the existence of the Poco F2, it could easily be the last phone that the company might launch before the end of 2019.

Several leaks suggest that the Poco F2 will mimic the Redmi K20 Pro with a pop-up selfie camera and an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. If it exists, the Poco F2 might undercut the Redmi K20 Pro with the pricing with a few shortcomings.
