Nokia 6 (2018) or Nokia 7 US variants visit FCC
Single SIM and dual-SIM variants of either Nokia 6 (2018) or Nokia 7 smartphones have visited the FCC certification database.
HMD Global has sent out the media invites for the announcements that they are going to make at the MWC 2018 tech show in Barcelona on February 25. At the tech show, the company is expected to unveil the Nokia 9 flagship smartphone, the Nokia 1 Android Go phone and the 4G feature phone as well. Along with these, it is likely to expect the international variants of the already announced Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7. But there is no confirmation from HMD regarding its announcements next month.
In the meantime, two smartphones with the model numbers TA-1016 and TA-1045 have visited FCC. These are likely to be the single SIM and dual-SIM variants of either Nokia 6 (2018) or Nokia 7. The FCC certifications reveal that both are the variants of the same device, claims a report by NokiaPowerUser.
Battery capacity is out
Going by the FCC listing, it looks like the device has a 3000mAh battery operating under its hood. Eventually, we get to know that it is either the Nokia 6 (2018) or the Nokia 7. The FCC certifications do not point out any further details about these smartphones.
Both are US variants
One thing that we are clear about is that both these variants are US bound as HMD has disabled the non-US frequencies and other country code selections as well. Moreover, as these smartphones have cleared FCC certifications, it is clear that the TA-1016 and TA-1045 could be for the US market.
Avatar codename
The codename appears to be Avatar as seen before for the Nokia 9 with the model number TA-1005. Also, the screenshot of the certification below shows Canada mentioned in it. We also get to know that the device will run Android Oreo out-of-the-box.
Chinese variants receive Oreo
A few days back, the Chinese variants of the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 have started receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The rollout of the update was confirmed by the company through the micro-blogging site Weibo. Eventually, it is not surprising to see the international variants of these smartphones to be launched with the Android Oreo OS out of the box.
