Nokia 6 (2018) with 4GB RAM India sale to debut on May 13

Nokia 6 (2018) was launched in India for Rs. 16,999. The device was launched along with the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphones. Soon after the launch of this device, there were speculations that a high-end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space will be launched in the country. There were speculations that the new Nokia 6 with 4GB RAM could be priced at Rs. 18,999.

After a month's time, there seems to be some confirmation regarding this handset. The Nokia Mobile India handle has posted a tweet teasing the new Nokia 6 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. The tweet by the company leaves hints such as "up your pace" and "with even more space" pointing out at the higher RAM and storage capacity.

Availability

Going by a listing on Amazon India, the upgraded model will go on sale from May 13. The listing has the Notify Me button for those who are interested in buying it. As mentioned above, it is expected to be priced around Rs. 18,999. However, we need to wait for an official confirmation from the company regarding the same.

This variant was announced at the MWC 2018 tech show in late February but it did not make its way to the Indian market. Only the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant was available in the country. Like the other Nokia smartphones, we can expect this one to also be made available via the online and offline channels such as Nokia Mobile online store, Reliance Digital, Croma, Sangeetha, Poorvika, etc.

To recap, the new Nokia 6 smartphone runs Android One based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone bestows a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under its hood, the smartphone makes use of an octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC and a 3000mAh battery.

There is a microSD card supporting up to 128GB storage space. A 3000mAh battery powers the smartphone offering up to 16 hours of talk time and up to 507 hours of standby time.
