Nokia 7 Plus to receive Dual VoLTE support; Nokia 5 2018 teased

HMD Global released the new wave of smartphones in the global markets. And, the rumor mills have started focusing on the upcoming models such as the Nokia X. In the meantime, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas seems to have revealed two important tidbits via his Twitter handle in response to tweets from random users.

Well, the recent information from the executive is that the company might come up with the Nokia 5 2018 as he has teased the same. Also, the Nokia 7 Plus, which is one of the best selling models in the market right now could receive a feature that it was missing badly.

Nokia 7 Plus dual VoLTE support

Nokia 7 Plus is one of the best mid-range smartphones right now. It comes with several impressive features making it a good buy. However, the global variant of the handset does not support Dual VoLTE unlike the Chinese variant. There is good news for the users who are expecting this feature. Juho Sarvikas has replied to a video review of the smartphone by @SidnChips stating that the dual VoLTE support will be rolled out shortly. From his tweet, we can guess that the reviewer had mentioned the lack of the dual VoLTE capability as a drawback of the smartphone.

With the Dual VoLTE feature, users of Nokia 7 Plus can enjoy the benefits of VoLTE on both the SIM cards to make HD calls. There are many other smartphones supporting this feature and some of them are Oppo R11s and Honor View 10.

Though there is no word on when exactly the smartphone might receive the Dual VoLTE feature, it is likely that we can expect the feature to be included in the next update for the Nokia 7 Plus.

In another interesting tweet via NokiaPowerUser, Juho Sarvikas has revealed that the company is working on the next-generation Nokia 5. Being asked about the Nokia 5 2018, he had replied "stay tuned :)".
