Last year, the name Nokia 7 Plus was revealed along with the details of the Nokia Camera app as it contained a list of Nokia smartphones. Some of these phones were already available in the market while some others are yet to see the light of the day. A few months later, a Geekbench listing surfaced online in the last week revealing more details of what appears to be the Nokia 7 Plus. Now, we have the complete specifications and a leaked image of the device.
A NokiaPowerUser report citing a Baidu source appears to have revealed the Nokia 7 Plus marketing material. The leak gives us an idea of the design, key specifications and the presence of the Pro mode as seen in the Nokia Camera. From the leaked details, it looks like this will be the first Nokia smartphone to arrive with a full-screen design and 18:9 aspect ratio display.
Dual cameras from ZEISS
There appears to be a dual camera setup at the rear with 12MP and 13MP lenses from ZEISS. It looks like the dual rear camera setup comes along with 2X optical zoom. In addition to this, the marketing material gives us a hint that the front-facing camera is a 16MP that is also from Zeiss. Like the recent smartphone launches from HMD Global, the Nokia 7 Plus is also believed to arrive with the support for Bothies that will click photos using both the front and rear cameras and merge them together.
Snapdragon 660 SoC
Going by the recent claims including the leaked benchmark listing, the alleged Nokia 7 Plus might make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. From the leaked marketing material, it looks like the Nokia 7 Plus might arrive with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage space that can be further expanded using a microSD card. Like many other high-end smartphones that exist in the market, this one from HMD is said to feature a USB Type-C port but there is no word about the 3.5mm audio jack. The battery capacity remains unknown but it is said to support quick charging.
MWC 2018 announcement possible
The smartphone is said to arrive with a 6-inch display with the above-mentioned 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also believed to boot Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Having said that the Nokia 7 Plus has entered mass production, there are claims that the smartphone might be unveiled at the MWC 2018 tech show.
