Nokia 8.2 5G Might Make Its Debut At MWC 2020 With Snapdragon 735 SoC
Nokia -- a subsidiary brand of HMD Global might launch its first 5G smartphone -- the Nokia 8.2 5G at MWC 2020 along with a few other mid-tier devices. The phone is expected to be powered by an upcoming Qualcomm chipset -- the Snapdragon 735 with a SA (standalone) 5G modem.
The Nokia 8.2 will be the successor to the Nokia 8.1, which is currently available in India for Rs. 15,000 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Plus, according to some reports, the company is also speculated to launch a 4G only version of the Nokia 8.1 for markets like India, where the 5G network is not yet available.
However, another report from Nokia Power User says otherwise, where the Nokia 8.2 will only be available select markets with 5G support. The same phone might get launched in different markets under a different name sans 5G support.
Nokia 8.2 5G Rumored Specifications
The Nokia 8.2 5G will embrace a completely bezel-less display design with a pop-up selfie camera -- a first for a Nokia smartphone. The Snapdragon 735 SoC will be clubbed with at least 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Plus, the phone will also available in different memory configurations, offering up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
The Snapdragon 735 is expected to be the successor to the Snapdragon 730 and is likely to be based on either an 8nm or 7nm manufacturing process.
The device is likely to embrace a circular triple-camera setup, similar to the Nokia 7.2 with a 64MP primary sensor, a secondary ultra-wide angle lens, and a depth sensor.
Price And Availability
The Nokia 8.2 will be available exclusively on select markets (probably the US and China) and the device is likely to come with a price tag of $500 for the base variant.
