On Wednesday, HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 8, the highly anticipated flagship smartphone with interesting features. Today, there is interesting information regarding when this smartphone will be made available in India.

Going by an IANS report, the Nokia 8 will be released in India during Diwali. The smartphone was launched in four colors - polished copper, polished blue, tempered blue and steel and is priced at 599 euros, which translates to Rs. 45,000 in India. The global release of the Nokia 8 will debut in September, claimed the company while launching the device and the India release appears to be slated for October around the festive season.

Nokia 8 boasts an unibody design and is crafted using a single block of 6000 series aluminum. On the specs front, the flagship smartphone from HMD arrives with a 5.3-inch QHD 1440p display with the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The hardware aspects comprise of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. Running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, the Nokia 8 has connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and dual SIM support in select markets. A 3090mAh battery powers the smartphone with support for Quick Charge 3.0.

On the imaging front, the Nokia 8 boasts of a 13MP dual-lens rear camera setup (RGB+monochrome) with Carl Zeiss branding. This camera module has f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. There is a 13MP selfie camera as well on board with display flash, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF.

Leaving the specifications apart, the Nokia 8 seems to have features such as Dual-Sight that uses both the front and rear cameras at the same time to click a snap, Nokia OZO Audio, Liquid Cooling that will keep the smartphone cool preventing overheating, and IP54 rating to make it splash proof.
