Finally, the Nokia 8 has been launched in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 36,999 and will go on sale starting from October 14 via both Amazon India and the offline stores too.
The Nokia 8 carries a handful of highlights such as the dual camera setup at its rear with the Carl Zeiss branding, the bothies feature, Liquid Cooling that will prevent overheating of the smartphone, and a few more. The smartphone has flagship specifications such as the Snapdragon 835 SoC and Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well.
Right now, HMD has launched the Nokia 8 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. Going by the speculations, the high-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space is all set to be launched in October and there is no word regarding the availability of this model of Nokia 8 in India.
Design and display
Being a flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8 features an unibody design and is made using a block of 6000 series aluminum. The smartphone is claimed to have undergone a 40-stage process of machining, anodizing and polishing in order to make it look premium. The smartphone has the IP54 rating that makes it splash proof. When it comes to the display, the smartphone flaunts a 5.3-inch IPS 2K display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Under its hood, the Nokia 8 features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC as the other high-end smartphones those are already available in the market. This processor works in conjunction with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory that can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. A 3090mAh battery powers the Nokia 8 from within along with support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
Dual rear cameras
The Nokia 8 has a dual-rear camera setup with the Carl Zeiss branding. The Nokia 8 flaunts a 13MP dual-lens rear camera setup with RGB and monochrome sensors. This camera module is accompanied by OIS, PDAF, IR range finder and f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone also has a 13MP selfie camera with PDAF, display flash and a similar aperture.
HMD unveiled the Nokia 8 in August with the stock Android similar to the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and will soon receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update as well.
Connectivity and other features
The connectivity features on board include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual SIM with the hybrid SIM card slot. The Nokia 8 comes with other features such as Liquid Cooling, Dual-Sight and Nokia OZO Audio. The Dual-Sight feature will let users click photos and videos using both the front and rear cameras at the same time and this is another notable feature of the Nokia 8.

The Nokia 8 is priced at Rs. 36,999 and will be available via the online retailer Amazon India and offline stores. The device will go on sale starting from October 14.
