Nokia 8, the recent flagship smartphone from HMD Global is all set to be released in the global markets. This does not mean that the company will not launch the Nokia 9, which was speculated to be the flagship device from the company.
We have been coming across a lot of Nokia 9 leaks and rumors tipping that the launch of the device isn't too far away. Despite the speculations that the smartphone will arrive with high-end specifications, it was believed to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat as the previous leaks have tipped so. Surprisingly, a recent GFXBench listing of the Nokia 9 shows that the device runs on Android 8.0.0 Oreo.
It is known that the Nokia smartphones will get the Oreo update but the benchmark listing tips that the device might be launched with Android 8.0.0 Oreo out of the box. Maybe, the software team at HMD is testing the Android Oreo build for the upcoming flagship smartphone.
As of now, there is no specific release date from the company but we can expect it to be pre-installed with Oreo or receive the same as an OTA update soon after its release.
From the existing rumors, the Nokia 9 is believed to flaunt a 5.5-inch to 5.7-inch display and make use of the Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM paired with 128GB storage that expanded further using a microSD card. The device is expected to arrive with a dual camera setup with the two lenses placed vertically with the Carl Zeiss branding.
Though some of the specifications have come to light, we need to mention that these are not confirmed specs and we need to wait for HMD to reveal the details. Until then, we ought to consider these as a dose of skepticism.
