Nokia 8.1 To Receive Android 10 Update Soon

HMD Global confirmed that the Nokia 8.1 will be the first handset from Nokia to receive the Android 10 update. We can expect the update sometime in Q4 2019. Besides, the Nokia 7.1 and the Nokia 9 PureView phones are expected to get the update by the end of this year.

Android 10 Features

Android 10 is better than its predecessor in many ways. It features an improved biometric authentication; it comes with a Live Caption feature that will keep working even without internet. The update offers clearer information for apps so that you can easily access your location. Its 'First Share' feature lets you transfer files more easily. It has a 'Dark Theme' feature that can be switched on following the settings menu.

The update features a foldable screen emulator that will perfectly work with any Android foldable smartphone. With the Android 10, you can get your device installed with the security patch without rebooting.

Nokia 8.1

To recall, the Nokia 8.1 was launched with a 6.18-inch FHD+ display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. It has a dual rear camera setup and a single selfie snapper. It runs stock Android 9.0 Pie and is part of the Android One program. It comes with a 3,500 mAh battery with the 18 W fast charging support and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Furthermore, it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a single speaker with a smart amplifier. It is available in the Indian market in red, silver and blue colors. And, it is priced at Rs. 26,999 for the given storage variant.
