Nothing Phone 1 to Receive Software Update 1.5.4
While the Nothing Phone 2 has been in the news for its upcoming launch, the Nothing Phone 1 smartphone is set to receive a new software update. The brand took to Twitter to announce the rollout of the software build, Nothing OS 1.5.4.
The latest software build brings a host of new features, improvements, and optimizations apart from bug fixes.
Nothing OS Software Update Improvements and Features
The update includes a new Feedback option where users can send their feedback on the latest software version. Users can access this feature by going to Settings, click on System, and then select on Feedback.
The software will now have a reduced standby power consumption as the update brings optimization to the 4G/5G network switching.
Bluetooth has also been optimized to pair with devices faster. The fingerprint unlocking mechanism is also said to be optimized for a smoother unlock experience. A new face unlock setup has also been added with the update.

The build also includes the functionality to scan a QR code via the camera app and select payment options on the device to make a payment. However, this feature is currently available only in select regions.
Nothing has also added improvements in the pop-up view animations and bug fixes for the freeze issues that were reported in the Pop-up view. Error messages will also now be displayed during face unlock.
There are also improvements in the notification display in Quick Settings apart from adding time-stamp accuracy in photos.
Fixes have also been added to incoming call notifications. The Google Safety Center has also been integrated into the software.
The update, which is 119 MB in size, is said to roll out over the air and will reach users in a staged manner based on region. Users can check if they have received the update from Settings, then click on System and then select the System Update option.
The Nothing Phone 1 was launched last year for ₹32,999. It is available in a single variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage space.
