Nothing Phone (1) Update Brings Ear (2) Support, Improved App Restart Times
Nothing Phone (1) users are being treated to another significant software update, which introduces new features, fixes a few things, and makes other things even better. The newly minted company has been hard at work fixing the issues encountered by users of its first-ever smartphone.
Nothing announced it is rolling out a new update for the Nothing Phone (1). Called the Nothing OS 1.5.3, the update addresses a few technical issues and adds a few new things for users to flex.

The Nothing Phone (1) encountered issues, such as overheating, sudden battery drops, and long app restarting times. While these aren't widespread, they were enough to warrant a fix from the company.

The Nothing OS 1.5.3 changelog reveals all the changes made to the operating system. The update focuses on improved battery life and reduced app restart times, apart from bug fixes. There are also new wallpapers and support for Nothing Ear (2). Here's the full changelog -
- New support for manually adding games to Game Mode (games not installed from PlayStore will not be able to be used with the Game Dashboard)
- Smoother animations for pop-up view
- Improved fingerprint transition between the lock screen and AOD
- New wallpapers
- Added support for Ear (2)
- New memory management algorithm that reduces app restart times by over 35% and lowers CPU consumption to improve overall battery life
- Improved system stability
Aside from these new additions in the Nothing Phone (1), the software update also fixes a few major bugs. Here's a full list of the bug fixes -
- Fixed abnormal appearance of Night Light mode in certain scenarios
- Fixed the flashing charging prompt on the AOD interface
- Fixed issue where Glyph lights did not show for incoming WhatsApp calls
- Fixed freeze issues during YouTube video playback
- Fixed issue where weather data did not show in the Quick Look widget
- Other general bug fixes
Nothing said the rollout of the software update has already begun and will show up on the Nothing Phone (1) in the next few days.
