Nothing Phone 2 Will Be A “Made In India” Smartphone With 3x More Recycled Materials

After experiencing success with the Nothing Phone 1, the London-based consumer technology brand has confirmed the Nothing Phone 2 will be a "Made In India" smartphone. Nothing has also indicated the Android smartphone will have recycled raw materials, which will cut down the device's carbon footprint.

The Nothing Phone 2 will be far more eco-friendly compared to the Nothing Phone 1, confirmed the brand. The company even indicated it was committed to offering top-notch after-sales service to smartphone buyers in India. Let's look at the latest information about the Nothing Phone 2.

Nothing 'Phone (2)' Will Be Manufactured In India

The Nothing Phone 1's successor has been christened the Nothing Phone (2). The brand has confirmed that Phone (2) will be made in India.

Incidentally, the yet-to-be-launched smartphone will follow in its predecessor's footsteps. In other words, just like the first one, the Phone (2) will be manufactured in India. The first-generation Nothing Phone (1) was built at a facility in Tamil Nadu.

The manufacturing of the Phone (2) will be majorly undertaken by BYD Electronic, a Shenzhen-based company. Hence, the assembly of the smartphone will take place in India. Speaking about the same, Manu Sharma, VP and GM of Nothing India said:

"Nothing smartphones are known for their iconic transparent design. These designs require hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering, which have led to the enhancement of smartphone manufacturing capabilities in India. Our drive to manufacture in India reflects our commitment to the local consumers and their demands. We are proud to announce that Phone (2) will be manufactured in India."

Nothing Phone 2 Will Be An Eco-Friendly Android Smartphone

Nothing confirmed it is rapidly expanding its customer support in India. The brand plans to have fully-operational 230+ authorized service centers in more than 250 Indian cities. Additionally, the brand intends to offer support via the authorized Nothing India channels.

Apart from improving the service factor, Nothing had recently confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2 will be one of the most eco-friendly devices to be manufactured in India:

"As a young brand, we have always believed in an earth-first approach. Phone (2) is designed to be one of the most sustainable smartphones on the market."

The Phone (2) has 3 times more recycled, bio-based, and eco-friendly or sustainably acquired parts compared to the Phone (1). The brand also revealed that the Phone (2) has a bigger 6.7-inch screen, yet has a has SGS certified carbon footprint of 53.45 kg, over 5 kg lower than the Phone (1).

The Nothing Phone (2) is scheduled to launch next month. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and pack a 4,700mAh battery. The smartphone will receive 3 years of OS updates.
