Nothing Phone 2a Leaked Unit Reveals Design and Specs; Launch Timeline and Price Details Surface
Rumors are swirling around the upcoming Nothing Phone 2a, the speculated mid-range smartphone from the UK-based OEM. While the company has not officially confirmed its existence, leaks and insider information suggest an imminent release.
Recently, tipster Yogesh Brar shared insights and leaked images of a Production Validation Test (PVT) unit, offering a sneak peek into the anticipated design and key specifications.

Design Overhaul and PVT Unit Leaks
The leaked images showcase a redesigned back panel on the Nothing Phone 2a, deviating significantly from previous models. Positioned at the top center is a horizontal camera module, a departure from the design seen in other Nothing handsets. The front view reveals a centered hole-punch display, adding a touch of modernity to the device.
Glyph Interface and Display Dynamics
Yogesh Brar suggests that alongside the revamped back panel, the Nothing Phone 2a may feature a redesigned Glyph Interface, providing controls similar to the premium Nothing Phone 2.
The leaked information hints at the inclusion of a 120Hz OLED panel, promising a smooth and responsive display.
Under the Hood Specifications
According to the leaks, the Nothing Phone 2a is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The operating system is speculated to be Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14. Imaging capabilities may include a 50-megapixel dual rear camera system and a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
While the leaked specifications provide an exciting glimpse into the potential features of the Nothing Phone 2a, caution is advised. The leaked image's 'About Phone' section lists a seemingly erroneous 1,000mAh battery, a size notably smaller than typical smartphone batteries. It's essential to treat this detail with skepticism until official confirmation.
Anticipated Launch and Pricing
Yogesh Brar's leaks also offer insights into the launch timeline and pricing of the Nothing Phone 2a. According to the tipster, the mid-range smartphone is expected to debut at the 2024 Mobile World Congress in February, with a suggested price tag of $400 (approximately Rs. 33,200). In India, it could be priced between Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000.
