Nothing Phone 2a Plus Community Edition with Glow in the Dark Back Panel Launched in India

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition has been unveiled in India, featuring similar specifications and design to the Phone (2a) Plus. This edition incorporates community-driven features, developed from over 900 submissions across 47 countries over six months. The phone's back uses green-tinted phosphorescent materials, which glows in the dark.

Six wallpapers created by the community are included with the device. These wallpapers depict community connections as machine connectors, showcasing cables, pipes, microchips, and components within a transparent shell. This design offers a glimpse into the intricate yet fascinating community behind the phone.

The device boasts a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 2412×1084 pixels. It supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 30-120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The display also features HDR10+, 10-bit colour, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for durability.

Powered by an Octa Core MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro processor clocked at up to 3GHz, it includes a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU running at up to 1.3 GHz. The phone offers 12GB LPDD4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, operating on Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.6.

The camera setup includes a dual SIM slot and features a main camera of 50MP Samsung GN9 with f/1.88 aperture and OIS support. Additionally, there's a 50MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture capable of recording in 4K at up to 30 fps. A front camera of the same resolution is also present.

The packaging reflects Nothing's design ethos with a focus on texturing and reflective elements that depict the phone glowing in darkness. The creative platform encourages finding personal inspiration, symbolised by fireflies illuminating paths in darkness.

The device measures dimensions of 161.74x76.32x8.55mm and weighs around 190g. It is dust and splash resistant with an IP54 rating and supports various connectivity options including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C audio port along with stereo speakers. A robust battery capacity of 5000mAh powers the phone supporting fast wired charging at up to 50W speed ensuring prolonged usage without frequent recharges.

Priced at Rs. 29,999 for its sole variant of 12GB+256GB, only 1,000 units will be available globally. Interested buyers can register their interest for early access through Flipkart links shared on November 12th.

"The earlier you register, the higher the chances to be in the first wave of invites," stated the company. Moreover, an exclusive offline event will be organized for community members, with further details to be announced on Nothing India's social channels.
