Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is a Modest Upgrade Over the Standard (2a), Leaks Reveal
The Nothing Phone (2a) launched earlier this year, and its "Plus" sibling is set to hit shelves soon. While details surrounding the standard model were plentiful, the upcoming Plus variant remained shrouded in mystery. However, a recent leak by Smartprix sheds light on the key differences between the two phones.
So, what exactly makes the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus...well, Plus?
First of all, don't expect significant changes. Rumors suggest the Plus will sport the same 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate as its predecessor. The under-display fingerprint sensor and core functionalities like NFC connectivity will also remain unchanged.

The upgrades are internal, focusing on performance and user experience:
- Selfie Camera Boost: The biggest change lies in the front-facing camera. The Phone (2a) Plus ditches the 32MP sensor for a more impressive 50MP option, potentially improving selfie quality.
- Faster Charging: While both phones boast a 5,000mAh battery, the Plus gets a slight edge in charging speed. The standard Phone (2a) utilizes 45W fast charging, while the Plus ups the ante to 50W.
- Processing Power: Nothing confirmed the Plus will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC, a bump from the Dimensity 7200 Pro in the Phone (2a). This could lead to improved performance, especially for multitasking and gaming.
- The Phone (2a) Plus is expected to come in two RAM configurations: 8GB and 12GB, both paired with a generous 256GB of storage.
- Black and Grey colorways are rumored, with a potential difference in finish compared to the standard Phone (2a).
Is the Phone (2a) Plus a compelling upgrade?
The upgraded camera, faster charging, and slightly improved processing power are appealing, but whether they justify a new phone purchase depends on individual needs. On paper, those who have the standard Phone (2a) aren't missing much. Hold on to that phone, buddy.
Launch Date
