Nothing Phone 3a India Launch Imminent, Spotted with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Chip: Two More Phones Incoming
Nothing is reportedly working on three new smartphones for next year, under the codenames "asteroids," "asteroids_plus," and "galaga." Last week, a new Nothing phone with model number A059 appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, which was believed to be the upcoming Nothing Phone (3). However, the new report suggests this model number belongs to the Nothing Phone 3a.

Nothing Phone 3a India Launch Likely Soon
Smartprix spotted three Nothing smartphone models on the IMEI database with model numbers A001, A059 and A059P. The model number A059 is said to belong to the Nothing Phone 3a, while A059P is likely the Nothing Phone 3a Plus. The code name "asteroids" is expected to belong to the Nothing Phone 3a, while the "asteroids_plus" is to the Nothing Phone 3a Plus.
While there's no information regarding the launch timeline for the upcoming devices, it's expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
Nothing Phone 3a: What to Expect?
As per the IMEI database, the Nothing (3a) will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, an upgrade over the Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC featured on the precursor Phone 2a. The Geekbench listing reveals the phone scored 1,149 on the single-core test and 2,813 on the multi-core performance test.
It is tipped to be capable of 4K 60FPS video recording, and slow-motion video up to 480FPS at 1080P. Camera features might include Super Macro, Super EIS, and Super Night modes. The phone is also expected to run Android 15 with NothingOS 3.0. Apart from this, nothing is known about the upcoming device.
To recall, the Nothing Phone 2a was launched back in March in India. Given that, we expect the brand could follow the same timeline for the successor Phone 3a. It remains to be seen if the brand bring all three devices at the same time.
