Nothing Phone (3a) Series Tops Flipkart’s Mid-Range Charts Despite Market Slowdown

The mid-range smartphone space in India has been relatively slow-moving in 2025, with overall sales declining across the board. But London-based tech company Nothing seems to have struck a chord with its latest launch.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Series has reportedly become the best-selling mid-range smartphone on Flipkart in its first month, despite broader market challenges.

A Strong Launch in a Cautious Market

According to IDC India, smartphone sales across the country have seen a noticeable dip this year. Against that backdrop, the early response to the Phone (3a) Series stands out. Flipkart says the phones have performed better than any other launch in the price segment over the past six months.

Nothing’s India president and co-founder, Akis Evangelidis, acknowledged the wider market slowdown but said the reception in India has been “incredible” and suggests a shift in consumer expectations within the segment.

Hardware Overview

The Phone (3a) Series includes two devices: the standard Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro. Both run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, and include 5000mAh batteries with support for 50W wired charging. Nothing claims a full day’s power in under 20 minutes of charging, though that figure will vary with use.

In terms of display, both models feature a 6.77-inch Full HD+ screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. A 1000Hz touch sampling rate is also available in gaming mode, aimed at improving responsiveness during fast-paced use.

Camera Features

Photography is a clear focus. The Phone (3a) Pro includes a periscope lens with up to 60x zoom and a 50MP front-facing camera capable of 4K video. The regular Phone (3a) features a 50MP main camera, a Sony ultra-wide sensor, and 2x optical zoom, with a 32MP selfie camera.

Both models are available on Flipkart, as well as offline at Croma, Vijay Sales, and other retail outlets.
