Nothing Reportedly Pauses Nothing OS 4.0 Update: Here's Why
Nothing began the public rollout of Nothing OS 4.0, its Android 16-based update, last month. The company also started releasing the stable update for the Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro last week. However, the company has now reportedly paused the update for eligible phones. Here's why:
Nothing Reportedly Halts Nothing OS 4.0 Rollout
In the latest development, a Reddit user reported that he still hasn't received the Nothing OS 4.0 update on his Phone (3) despite the company's official rollout announcement. He posted after contacting customer support; he was informed that the update has been halted.

The user wrote, "Initially, they sent me a generic copy-paste response saying it's now available on a range of devices. When I asked why my 'flagship' phone still didn't have the newest software, they admitted that the rollout has actually been stopped until they can work out a fix."
He also shared a screenshot of Nothing Support's response, confirming that the company has paused the Nothing OS 4.0 rollout to implement an urgent fix. The support message reads, "We have temporarily halted and removed the current 4.0 rollout and are working on an urgent fix."
The company also confirms that once the corrected version has completed internal testing, users who have already installed Nothing OS 4.0 will receive a patched update, while those who haven't received it yet will get the proper official version once the rollout resumes.
As of now, Nothing has not commented on the issue. If the company releases any official statement, we will keep you updated.
