Nothing Rolls Out NOS 4.0 Update with Reimagined Lock Screen Clock and an AI Usage Dashboard
Nothing has announced its latest software update, NOS 4.0, offering a refined design throughout its system. The update brings standardized components, redesigned lock screen clocks, and a new AI Usage Dashboard. Here's a look at all the new features.
NOS 4.0 New Features
Extra Dark Mode: The Extra Dark Mode in Nothing OS now extends its dark theme further. This mode is designed to be cooler and smarter, reducing power consumption while providing comfort for the eyes in dim lighting conditions.

Pop-up View: The Pop-up View feature enhances multitasking by supporting two pop-up windows at once. Users can operate two floating apps simultaneously. A quick swipe up from the bottom edge minimises a window, while pulling down expands it to full screen.
AI Usage Dashboard: Privacy and information transparency are prioritised in Nothing OS 4.0. The update makes AI behaviour clearer and easier to manage. Users receive status hints about AI (LLM) activities and can access an AI Usage Dashboard for comprehensive insights and control.
Settings now allow users to monitor usage trends easily with daily and weekly views available. This feature shows which LLMs are most active during specific periods, enabling users to delve into individual model usage for complete visibility and management.
Moreover, the new update brings more responsive lock screen and AOD, clearer brightness adjustments, stronger connectivity across Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and improved overall stability.
Availability
An open beta testing program for the NOS 4.0 will be rolled out soon, offering users the chance to experience Nothing OS 4.0 first, with an exclusive preview of Android 16.
