Nubia Z50S Pro Launched in China With 50MP Triple Cameras

ZTE's Nubia has launched a new smartphone, called the Nubia Z50S Pro in China, for just the local Chinese market. A new, innovative design coupled with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Advanced Edition SoC makes it quite the in-vogue phone in the markets at present.

The most standout feature is the phone's camera setup. Let's take a look at that, and other specifications of the smartphone.

Nubia Z50S Pro: Design and Specifications

A sleek, flat design and a AG glass finish at the back which mirrors a leather finish gives the full phone a modern look. The triple camera set up is hosted in a circular module at the back of the phone. A key point to note is that the phone has a separate physical button dedicated to taking pictures.

The colour options on offer are Black Coffee and Khaki.

The device comes with a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2800×1260 pixels. This has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1000Hz instantaneous peak sampling rate. The display also boasts of having a UL platinum low blue light eye protection certification, that makes sure that eyes aren't strained too much, despite prolonged use of the phone. It supports 1.07 billion colours.

The Nubia Z50S Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Advanced Edition processor.

The company is putting on offer three storage variants of the phone, the first being 12GB + 256GB, second being 12GB + 1TB and the best option being 16GB + 1TB.

The 5100mAh battery of the smartphone supports 80W fast charging. The phone runs on MyOS13. Connectivity options include Mobile 5G, China Unicom 5G, Telecom 5G/4G/3G/2G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be and Bluetooth 5.3.

On top of all of this, additional features of the nubia Z50S Pro include DTS:X Ultra dual stereo speakers, X-axis linear motor, infrared, NFC(eSE), and a physical slider.

Nubia Z50S Pro: Camera Details

One of the most attractive features that the Z50S Pro boasts of, is its triple camera set up at the back of the phone. The set up includes a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX800, 1/1.49 inch sensor with OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens (with support for macro shooting as close as 2.5cm), as well as an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS (and support for 6x optical zoom.) Additionally, the phone has a 16MP selfie camera at the front. Different modes like street photography (named "Humanistic Street Photography 2.0) and night photography (Night Mandrill 2.0) aim to make the camera department quite a hot favourite among customers.

Mirror of Light Version

The company also launched a special edition of the phone called the Mirror of Light version. The standout feature of this is a rainbow holographic ring on the camera module. Additionally, a a 3D "Carrara White" back looks great as it managed to catch the light to produce a holographic effect. This version is only available in the 12GB + 1TB configuration.

12GB + 1TB: 3,999 yuan ($557) or approximately INR 45,730
16GB + 1TB: 4,399 yuan ($612) or approximately INR 50,306
Mirror of Light 12GB + 1TB: 4,099 yuan ($570) or approximately INR 46,876

The nubia Z50S Pro is set to go live for sale at 10:00am on July 27 in China.
