Former Apple's CEO John Scully started his own mobile company in the Indian market, in order to expand the horizon of technology in the mid-range segment by introducing affordable smartphones with high-class technology.
Today, the company has announced two mid-rangers dubbed as Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5 that are designed by San Francisco-based product studio Ammunition. To enhance the sound experience for users, Obi has equipped both the devices with Dolby audio systems.
On top, these two mid-rangers comes pre-installed with utility apps such as AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android, Swiftkey, AccuWeather, Clean Master, and ColorNote.
Obi Worldphone SF1 - Key Features
Obi Worldphone SF1, comes with a competitive specs package comprising of 5-inch JDI In-Cell IPS floating glass display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and oleophobic coating to avoid finger print.
Further, the company has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor along with Adreno 405 GPU.
Moving on to the storage capacity, this device comes in two variants which houses a 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory. Anyhow, both these variants can be expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slots.
The camera package of this mobile comes with 13MP/5MP, meanwhile runs on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Operating System on board.
Moreover, this device comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE/ 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual-Band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / GLONASS. However, the above hardware is powered by a 3000mAh battery under the hood.
Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 - Key Features
On the other hand, this Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 is a lighter version compared to the above device. Anyhow, this variant comes with 5-inch display, with Corning Gorilla glass. It is clocked at 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6580 processor with Mali 400 MP2 GPU besides 1GB RAM under the hood.
Moreover, this device has 16GB of inbuilt memory, 32GB expandable memory, 8MP/5MP camera package, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 3G connectivity, 3000mAh battery.
Coming to the pricing and availability, Obi Worldphone SF1 is priced at $199 (approx Rs. 13,100) for 2GB RAM with 16GB memory variant and $249 (approx Rs. 16,500) for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version. Meanwhile the Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 carries a price tag of $129 (approx Rs. 8,500)
Starting from October, these devices will be available in India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, Pakistan, Turkey.
