OnePlus 12 5G Global Launch Date Set for January 23: Will Challenge the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

OnePlus recently unveiled its flagship smartphone in China. Now, less than a week on from the launch of the OnePlus 12 5G in China, new information has emerged hinting the date of its global launch.

The OnePlus 12 5G features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a 5,400 mAh battery with wired and wireless fast charging support, and a Hasselblad triple-rear camera setup. Here's a look at how the OnePlus 12 5G fares against the Xiaomi 14 Pro and iQOO 12 5G.

OnePlus 12 5G Global Launch Date

According to a report by Hardware Info, Alexander Vanderhaeghe who serves as the Country Manager for OnePlus Benelux confirmed that the OnePlus 12 5G global launch date is set for January 23, 2024, in Europe.

Previous reports suggested that the OnePlus 12 5G would arrive on January 24, one day after a giveaway. The OnePlus 12 5G will be accompanied by the OnePlus 12R as well as other IoT products. Considering the OnePlus 12 5G was already revealed in China, its specifications are readily available.

The OnePlus 12 5G sports a 6.82-inch 2K Pro-XDR BOE X1 OLED display. The panel features LTPO 3.0 technology for an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate (1Hz - 120Hz) and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The screen boasts a pixel density of 510 PPI and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.

For optics, the OnePlus 12 5G features a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Sony LYTIA LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS. The main camera is paired with a 64 MP Omnivision O64B telephoto-periscope sensor with a focal length of 70mm, OIS, and 3x optical zoom and a 48 MP Sony IMX581 ultrawide shooter.
