OnePlus 12 5G Launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 2K OLED Display, Hasselblad Cameras

OnePlus has officially unveiled its flagship smartphone in China. The OnePlus 12 5G is the company's first smartphone to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Apart from the chip, the OnePlus 12 5G also has the brightest display of any smartphone, clocking in at an impressive 4,500 nits. Other aspects of the device include the triple rear cameras fine-tuned by Hasselblad and a massive 5,400 mAh battery with super-fast charging support.

OnePlus 12 5G Pricing, Availability

The OnePlus 12 5G price in China starts from CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 50,700) for the base 12GB/256GB model. The OnePlus 12 5G is also offered in 16GB/512GB, 16GB/1TGB, and 24GB/1TB configurations that will set you back CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs 56,600), CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs 62,500), and CNY 5,799 (roughly Rs 68,350), respectively.

OnePlus 12 5G Specifications

The OnePlus 12 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone will feature a new and improved cooling system made with Aerospace-grade material and a 10,000mm2 heat dissipation aera.

The OnePlus 12 5G is also equipped with the world's most powerful "Bionic Vibration Motor Turbo". The OnePlus 12 5G runs Android 14 out of the box with ColorOS 14 on top, although the global variant will use OxygenOS. The flagship OnePlus smartphone also packs a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support.

The OnePlus 12 5G sports a 6.82-inch 2K Pro-XDR BOE X1 OLED display. The panel features LTPO 3.0 technology for an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate (1Hz - 120Hz) and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The screen boasts a pixel density of 510 PPI and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. It is touted as one of the best displays on a smartphone to date, breaking 18 DisplayMate records, while achieving an A+ rating.

OnePlus 12 5G Cameras, Connectivity

For optics, the OnePlus 12 5G features a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Sony LYTIA LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS. The main camera is paired with a 64 MP Omnivision O64B telephoto-periscope sensor with a focal length of 70mm, OIS, and 3x optical zoom and a 48 MP Sony IMX581 ultrawide shooter.

All three cameras are fine-tuned in collaboration with Hasselblad. Up front, the OnePlus 12 5G opts for a 32 MP selfie camera. Connectivity options on the OnePlus 12 5G include 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, NFC, and more. The phone also packs dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

OnePlus 12 5G Design, Build

The OnePlus 12 5G will feature an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water, while the company has also taken steps to improve usability of the device in rainy weather.The OnePlus 12 5G is offered in Green, White (Leave Blank), and Rock Black color options.

The OnePlus 12 5G features glass protection on the back and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front. However, the Leave Blank model features "Creamic Glass" technology. The OnePlus 12 5G also features an under-display optical fingerprint reader and a metal frame.
