OnePlus 12R 5G Key Specifications and Design Renders Leaked

The OnePlus 12R will be launching soon, replacing the OnePlus 11R 5G which launched earlier this year in China. The R-series smartphones also launched a few months later in India, bringing an affordable OnePlus flagship to the market. The OnePlus 12R is also expected to launch in India soon, and ahead of the launch, the key specifications and design renders of the smartphone have leaked, courtesy Mysmartprice.

OnePlus is yet to confirm any details of the launch of the OnePlus 12R 5G or its key features. But information like this is never hidden for too long. Here's all you need to know -

OnePlus 12R 5G is going to feature top-of-the-line specifications seen in the current flagships. The smartphone is expected to launch early next year in China. The India launch could also happen simultaneously, but the publication could not confirm it.

The OnePlus 12R 5G is going to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and will be coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The publication said the smartphone is going to bring some major camera upgrades. This includes a 32MP telephoto camera sensor with 2X optical zoom. Along with that, there could be a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

Nevertheless, the previous OnePlus 11R 5G featured a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera, so this is going to be quite a big upgrade. On the front, the OnePlus 12R is expected to come with a 16MP front camera.

The OnePlus 12R 5G is expected to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, with a 5000mAh battery under the hood, which is about 10% larger than its predecessor. The smartphone will feature 100W fast charging out of the box, one again a similarity with the OPPO Reno10 Pro+.

The smartphone will boot into OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14, which is set to release for the public in October.

The leaked renders of the OnePlus 12R 5G reveals a curved display on the front, with thin bezels on the top and bottom. THe smartphone will feature a similar rear camera design from its predecessor, like a circular housing for the triple rear cameras. On the edges can be seen the iconic alert slider along with the power button and the volume rockers. At the bottom is the USB Type-C port, speaker grilles and microphone cutouts.

OnePlus 12R 5G: Expected Release Date

The publication said the launch event for the OnePlus 12R 5G is expected to be hosted in China in January 2024. The India launch could happen simultaneously this time, considering the success of the OnePlus 11R 5G, but nothing is confirmed yet. We will know for sure as the release date nears.
