OnePlus 13, Oppo Find X8, and Realme GT6 Pro Could Come With 6,000mAh Batteries
Smartphone users are constantly pushing the boundaries of what their devices can do. From capturing stunning high-resolution photos to battling it out in graphically demanding games, these activities drain battery life quickly.
Now, a recent leak suggests that major manufacturers like OnePlus, Realme, and OPPO might be addressing this concern by equipping their upcoming flagship phones with a massive 6,000mAh battery.

Flagship Phones Poised for a Battery Boost
Leaker Smart Pikachu, via Weibo, claims that the OnePlus 13, Realme GT 6 Pro, and the entire OPPO Find X8 lineup could feature a 6,000mAh battery. This represents a significant jump from the current generation, where these brands typically offer batteries between 5,000mAh and 5,500mAh. For example, the recently released Realme GT 6T comes with a 5,500mAh battery, while the OnePlus 12 packs a 5,400mAh cell.
Potential Trade-off: Weight Gain
A larger battery often translates to a heavier phone. While the exact weight of these upcoming devices remains unknown, users can expect them to be slightly heavier than their predecessors due to the bigger battery. For reference, the current generation Realme GT 6T weighs 191 grams, while the OPPO Find X7 and OnePlus 12 weigh 206 grams and 220 grams respectively.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Looks to Be Power-Hungry
Earlier reports hinted that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, expected to be unveiled in October 2024, might be more power-hungry due to its rumored architecture. This could necessitate the use of "high-density" batteries, potentially utilizing silicon anode technology for improved efficiency.
A larger 6,000mAh battery could help power these demanding processors, alongside features like high refresh rate displays, 5G connectivity, AI applications, and resource-intensive games.
Potential Release Window
If these rumors hold true, we can expect to see these 6,000mAh battery-equipped phones launched around or after the Snapdragon Summit in October 2024, where Qualcomm is expected to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
