OnePlus 13s Will Come with A New Customizable AI Key and Suite of Gen AI Features in India

OnePlus is stepping into the AI realm with a new suite of features and hardware integration under the OnePlus AI brand. These innovations will first appear on the upcoming OnePlus 13s, featuring a unique button called the Plus Key. This button replaces the traditional Alert slider and plays a crucial role in enabling new AI functionalities.

The Plus Key activates a feature known as AI Mind Space. By pressing and holding this button, users can scan their screen's content using AI Plus Mind. This function allows for saving, cataloguing, and recalling information later. It can identify dates or events to add to your calendar, detect locations for more details, or translate foreign languages present on the screen.

AI Features and Integration

All gathered data is stored within Mind Space, where screenshots and extracted information are organised for easy access. Users can search through this data using natural language queries via AI Search. Later this year, AI Plus Mind will automatically categorise saved content. Initially available on the 13s, it will expand to other OnePlus 13 series devices through updates.

For devices lacking the Plus Key, accessing these features is possible by swiping up with three fingers on the screen. Besides Plus Mind, OnePlus introduces several other AI capabilities. The AI VoiceScribe records, summarises, and translates calls and meetings across popular messaging and video applications.

Privacy and Security Measures

An exclusive feature in India is the AI Call Assistant, which provides automatic call summaries or real-time translation during calls within the new OnePlus Dialer app. The AI Translation app consolidates text, live voice, camera-based, and screen translations into one application.

AI Reframe analyses photo scenes in the Photos app to generate creative framing options for users. Meanwhile, AI Best Face 2.0 detects and corrects issues like closed eyes or unflattering expressions automatically. These features enhance user experience by leveraging advanced technology.

Enhanced User Experience

OnePlus is also enhancing its collaboration with Google Gemini. Gemini now integrates with OxygenOS apps such as OnePlus Notes and Clock. Additionally, Gemini Live supports camera and screen sharing functionalities to provide seamless user interaction across platforms.

Addressing privacy concerns, OnePlus emphasises on-device processing for sensitive data. For more complex computations requiring additional resources, it utilises Private Computing Cloud to ensure secure data processing in an encrypted environment.
