OnePlus 15T Camera Details Revealed Ahead of March 24 Launch: Sony IMX906 Sensor, Periscope Zoom, and More
OnePlus has started sharing more details about the upcoming OnePlus 15T ahead of its official launch in China on March 24.

The latest reveal focuses on the phone’s camera system, along with early sample images that offer a first look at its imaging capabilities. The company has also outlined some of the technologies that will power its photography experience.
Dual 50MP Cameras With Periscope Zoom
The OnePlus 15T features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary camera. The sensor is designed to capture more light and improve dynamic range, which should help in maintaining detail across different lighting conditions.
Alongside this, the phone includes a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. This lens supports 3.5x optical zoom and can extend up to 7x lossless zoom using image processing.
The 3.5x zoom translates to an 85mm equivalent focal length, which is commonly used for portrait shots. This setup should allow for more natural-looking close-ups without distortion.
Lumo Imaging Platform Focuses On Portraits
A key part of the camera system is the Lumo imaging platform, an imaging technology introduced by Oppo and adapted for OnePlus devices.
The platform focuses on improving portrait photography by combining optical data capture, computational depth processing, and color rendering. The aim is to deliver more accurate skin tones and a more natural background blur.
It includes a computational optics framework that gathers data across multiple focal lengths. This is paired with a digital imaging engine that recreates depth effects through spatial processing.
There’s also ProXDR, which enables an HDR workflow from capture to sharing, helping maintain dynamic range throughout the process.
Early Camera Samples Shared
OnePlus has also shared early camera samples from the 15T, giving a preview of how the camera system performs in real-world scenarios.
These samples highlight portrait shots and zoom capabilities, though a full assessment will only be possible after hands-on testing.
Additional Hardware Expected
Alongside the camera details, reports suggest that the OnePlus 15T could feature:
- A 6.32-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution
- 165Hz refresh rate
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
- Up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM
- Up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage
- 7,500mAh battery
- 100W wired and 50W wireless charging
The device is also expected to be available in brown, white, and green color options.
