OnePlus 16 Key Specs Tipped Ahead of Launch: 200MP Camera, 9000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
The OnePlus 15 is still fresh off the oven, but early leaks about the OnePlus 16 are already starting to surface.

According to tipster Debayan Roy, the next-generation OnePlus flagship could bring major upgrades across display, performance, cameras, and battery. At the same time, these details are described as very early specifications, so they should be treated cautiously.
There are also rumors that the OnePlus 16 could be China-exclusive, which, if true, could have implications for markets like India where OnePlus has a strong presence. For now, that claim remains speculative.
Here’s what the early leaks suggest so far.
Display and Performance: High-End on Paper
The OnePlus 16 is expected to feature a 1.5K flat LTPO OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, using a BOE X5 panel.
On the performance side, the phone is tipped to run on the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset (the naming is not confirmed).
Camera Setup: A 200MP Sensor in Focus
One of the most striking claims in the leak is the camera configuration.

The OnePlus 16 is said to feature:
- A 200MP main camera
- A 50MP ultra-wide camera
- A 50MP telephoto camera
On paper, this would mark a significant jump in imaging hardware for OnePlus. Whether this translates into real-world improvements will depend on tuning, processing, and software, which are impossible to judge at this stage.
Battery and Charging: Unusually Large Numbers
Another headline-grabbing detail is the battery.
The OnePlus 16 is tipped to pack a battery of around 9000mAh, along with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
If this turns out to be accurate, it would represent a major shift in battery capacity for a mainstream flagship.
Durability and Connectivity Features
The leak also mentions additional features such as:
- IP69 rating
- Improved ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- USB 3 support
The China-Exclusive Rumor
Alongside the specs, there are rumors that the OnePlus 16 could be limited to China.
If that happens, it could be a significant move for the brand, especially in markets like India, where OnePlus has built a strong user base over the years. However, this claim comes with a “huge grain of salt,” and there’s no official confirmation yet.
Given that the OnePlus 15 (review) launched recently, it’s still too early to draw conclusions about the OnePlus 16’s availability.
