Notably, OnePlus has also conducted a poll on its official Twitter handle asking the fans about their opinion on the 3.5mm audio jack instead of ditching the same for a USB Type-C port. The CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau has pointed out that the user freedom and audio quality are the two core reasons for the company to decide to retain the audio jack.

As per the OnePlus' survey, around 70% of the users have stated that the audio quality was a priority. Though there are impressive wireless headlines offering great audio quality priced below $200 (approx. Rs. 13,000), the company notes that almost 80% of the users prefer to have a 3.5mm audio jack on the smartphone.

In the post, Lau has further revealed that the company had decided to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack this time and swap it with a USB Type-C port. This move would be beneficial to the company as the OnePlus 5T would feature a slimmer build with the audio jack. However, considering the users' views into consideration, the company decided not to leave out the audio jack and this will definitely be good news for the OnePlus fans.

Lately, OnePlus confirmed the name of the upcoming smartphone - the OnePlus 5T by posting a teaser on Twitter featuring five cups of tea. Also, the device is speculated to feature a 6-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under its hood, it is likely that this smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB and 64GB/128GB storage as the OnePlus 5. The device is said to feature dual 20MP rear cameras with significant upgrades. The smartphone is believed to feature a 3450mAh battery with Dash Charging and run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
