OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant India launch to be preponed
A couple of days back, we reported that the OnePlus 5T Lava Red color variant could be launched in India on January 26. Now, a new report by Techook suggests that the company could have advanced the launch of the device.
The report claims that the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant might be launched earlier on January 23 in India as the previously informed January 26 launch date falls on a national holiday on account of Republic Day. However, neither of these dates were officially confirmed by the company and we are yet to get a confirmation from OnePlus regarding when exactly the Lava Red variant of the OnePlus 5T will be announced in India.
To recap, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red color variant was launched initially in the Chinese market and is exclusive to the company's home market until now. The launch of this variant was followed by the Star Wars Limited Edition model that has been launched globally. Now, the company has also announced the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White variant as a limited edition model and it will go on sale in China from January 9 onwards.
Other than the aesthetic changes, none of these variants are different from the original Midnight Black variant of the OnePlus 5T in terms of specifications. Moreover, all these variants are available only in the high-end model of the OnePlus 5T featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space. The vanilla variant of the device comes with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage capacity.
Detailing on the specifications, the OnePlus 5T adorns a 6-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. At its heart, there operates an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with a 3300mAh battery that can be charged quickly with the company's Dash Charge fast charging technology.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 5T comes with a dual camera setup at its rear with a 16MP primary sensor and a 20MP secondary sensor both with an aperture of f/1.7. The selfie camera is a 16MP unit with f/2.0 aperture. The device was launched with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat but has already received the Android Oreo Open Beta update that rolls out notable improvements and new features.
While the launch date of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant in India is yet to be confirmed, we can expect it to be priced similar to the Midnight Black variant at Rs. 37,999 and be an Amazon exclusive.
