OnePlus left Star Wars fans in awe after unveiling its limited edition OnePlus 5T with Star Wars branding. Now it seems, the company has similar collaboration plans for its flagship OnePlus 6 but will be targetting a different audience - the Marvel fans.
A new video shows intercuts between the OnePlus and Avengers logo, and also reveals the date of the upcoming Avengers movie. By the looks, it seems this was a test video that was posted on facebook by mistake. But this also gives us a good peek into what the company is planning for its upcoming flagship.
Although the original video has been taken down, folks at Android Central managed to get a copy.
The Avengers: Infinity War is due for an April 27 release, which is possibly the same time when OnePlus will launch its flagship. IT's still unclear whether the device will make it to the Indian market, but since the Star Wars edition was available for the Indian consumers, the Avengers themed-device might also hit the subcontinent shores.
As far as the device is concerned, a lot of rumors have been floating around. The smartphone is said to sport a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2,280×1,080 pixel resolution and will be powered by the zippy Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. It will be backed by 8GB of RAM and will offer 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options.
On the photography front, the smartphone will boast the same vertically housed dual camera setup comprising of a 20MP and 16MP sensor, but there's no word on the front camera of the phone. A 3,450mAh battery will fuel the device and will support company's Dash fast charging functionality.
The device is also going to sport the controversial iPhone X-like notch. OnePlus CEO, Carl Pei posted a picture of the notch with its exact dimensions. He also stated that the notch falls somewhere between iPhone X's and Essential Phone's notch. The OnePlus 6 notch will house a selfie camera alongside the ambient light sensor, earpiece, and a notification LED. The only thing missing here is the FaceID tech that makes the iPhone X notch a tad bigger.
