OnePlus 6 to arrive with gesture controls; alert slider to get new function
It is clear that OnePlus is trying to bring some major changes this year.
OnePlus 6 is circulating in many rumors and leaks of late. The company has been posting several teasers revealing the features of the upcoming flagship killer. The recent teaser from the company shared hints that the OnePlus 6 will arrive with advanced gesture controls. The gesture controls were introduced with the Android Oreo Open Beta 3 update, which was rolled out to the OnePlus 5T and the same appears to get advanced on the upcoming device.
The teaser video shared by OnePlus on Twitter reads, "Speed up your experience with gestures". The video also points towards the use of several swipe actions. Though the company has revealed that the OnePlus 6 will feature gesture support, there is no clarity on the exact gestures those will be supported by the smartphone.
Based on the previous Open Beta updates received by the OnePlus 5T, the OnePlus 6 might arrive with a minimum of three different gestures as seen on the iPhone X. These gestures will let users go back to home, simple swipe a specific way to go back, and check out the app overview.
Besides this, it looks like OnePlus is taking an all new approach this year with its flagship smartphone. In addition to the gesture support, OnePlus appears to be in plans for some changes to the existing functionalities. The Alert Slider on the upcoming smartphone is said to get a new functionality, reveals the latest teaser from the company.
OnePlus has posted another video teaser on its Twitter handle reading "Slide to focus with the Alert Slider". This teaser shows that the Alert Slider can be used to adjust the focus for the camera. Sliding the button will let users adjust the focus as desired. As of now, the Alert Slider lets users switch between the audio profiles such as Ring, Do Not Disturb and Silent modes.
With the new feature, users of the OnePlus 6 need not have to touch the screen in order to adjust the focus for the camera. Also, users may not have to touch the screen to take a picture. Like the previous models, pushing the power button twice will open the default camera app and the volume rocker can trigger the camera shutter button.
