OnePlus 6 launch may get launched earlier than usual, suggests a new leak. Citing an anonymous source, GizmoChina has claimed that OnePlus will unveil its next flagship later this month. In fact, the report says the smartphone could arrive in a couple of weeks. The company usually launches its phones around June.
If you recall, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei had said earlier that the company's next flagship will be unveiled in the latter part of Q2. So until we get an official confirmation, we are a little skeptical about the latest leak. The report doesn't give any explanation on why OnePlus has decided to prepone the launch of OnePlus 6.
The report has further revealed that the OnePlus 6 will come in three different storage variants. The base variant will have 64GB of native storage, the middle variant will have 128GB native storage, and the top-end variant will have 256GB storage. The smartphone is said to cost 3,299 Yuan (approx. 34,090) for the 64GB model, 3,799 Yuan (approx. Rs. 39,256) for the 128GB variant, and 4,399 Yuan (approx. Rs. 45,456) for the 256GB variant.
Besides this, GizmoChina has also obtained a phone case said to be of the OnePlus 6. According to the image, the smartphone will have a vertically arranged dual camera setup at its back. This aligns with previous reports we have come across so far.
As far as specifications are concerned, the OnePlus 6 is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It is also expected to run on Android 8.1 Oreo OS right out of the box. The smartphone was spotted on Geekbench with 6GB of RAM. Going by recent reports, the flagship device will also have a higher variant with 8GB of RAM.
OnePlus 6 is already confirmed to sport the notch design and it will reportedly be fitted with a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2,280×1,080 pixels.
Talking about the optics, the smartphone's dual rear camera setup is likely to consist of one 16MP sensor and one 20MP sensor. Additionally, the upcoming flagship is said to draw the power from a 3,450mAh battery along with OnePlus's proprietary Dash Charging feature.
