OnePlus Ace 5, Ace 5 Pro Launch Date Set for December 12: Dual Flagship Snapdragon Chips Confirmed

The OnePlus Ace 5 series is set to make its debut in China tomorrow. The line-up will include the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. The company also confirmed that both phones in its Ace series will feature Snapdragon chipsets. OnePlus calls them, "dual Snapdragon flagships".

OnePlus Ace 5 Series Launch Date

The OnePlus Ace 5 series launch date in China is set for December 12 at 02:30 pm local time or 12:00 noon IST. OnePlus says the new Ace 5 series will feature new self-developed "chip-level gaming technology" to bring an "unprecedented" gaming experience. The OnePlus Ace 5 series launch event will be streamed live on the company's Weibo account.

Additionally, the OnePlus Ace 5 will make its debut in India and internationally as the OnePlus 13R. The OnePlus 13R could launch in India in the first half of January 2025 alongside the OnePlus 13.

OnePlus Ace 5 Series: What to Expect?

The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is confirmed to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, while the vanilla Ace 5 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The Ace 5 series could come with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The OnePlus Ace 5 series is also expected to sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K 8T LTPO OLED display by BOE with a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will also feature battery capacities exceeding 6,000 mAh with 80W wired fast charging support. The OnePlus Ace 5 series will run Android 15-based ColorOS 15 out of the box.

The OnePlus Ace 5 series is also expected to feature a triple-camera setup on the back. The vanilla Ace 5 will likely feature a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter, although the Ace 5 Pro could ditch the 2MP macro shooter for a 50MP telephoto unit.
