OnePlus And Oppo May Shift From Alert Slider To Customisable Magic Cube Key, Similar to iPhone

OnePlus is on the brink of replacing its traditional Alert Slider with a customizable button, similar to the iPhone. The latest info comes to light via well-known tipster Digital Chat Station.

This new feature, dubbed the Magic Cube Key, aims to offer OnePlus users a versatile experience, allowing for one-click muting and the ability to tailor functions such as activating the flash, taking screenshots, snapping photos, translating text, and launching apps quickly. This innovation signifies a departure from the traditional Alert Slider, which was previously omitted in the OnePlus 10T.

The tipster also claims that Oppo is also moving away from the Alert Slider. This change is notable as Oppo had integrated the Alert Slider, a distinctive OnePlus feature, into its devices not long ago. The transition to what is also referred to as the Magic Cube Key marks a significant shift in design philosophy for both brands, aiming to provide users with a more personalized and adaptable interface.

The removal of the Alert Slider by both OnePlus and Oppo hints at a broader trend in smartphone design, pushing towards customization and multifunctional features. The upcoming Find N5 is set to distinguish itself as the world's slimmest foldable smartphone, boasting the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset – a first for foldable devices.

As far as the India launch is concerned, the Find N5 is anticipated to arrive in India as the OnePlus Open 2. However, the brand already confirmed that the OnePlus Open 2 will not be released this year in the country.
