The Chinese startup, OnePlus has managed to foothold in the premium flagship smartphone space. Now, the company is entering the budget smartphone segment.

New information has came out that the company will to launch a budget smartphone dubbed as OnePlus Mini. According to rumors the details of OnePlus Mini have been surfaced on AnTuTu benchmark.

OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei, had said earlier that the company is working on another smartphone, which will be released by the end of this year. Meanwhile, the latest information citing Vikas Agarwal, general manager, OnePlus India, has confirmed that the new smartphone is all set for release by the end of this year.

Vikas Agarwal said in an interview with Economic Times that,"We're introducing a new device by the end of this year. Diwali would be the ideal time, but next quarter for sure. It would be a global launch, but India will be the biggest focus."

Display

According to the AnTuTu benchmark listing, the OnePlus Mini has a model number of A2301 and supports Full-HD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.

Design

The leaked image pointed that the OnePlus Mini seems to have a different design compared to the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus One. The bottom edge of the smartphone features a charger that separates a pair of speaker grille.

Camera

Rumors suggest that the smartphone will come with 13 megapixel primary camera.

Processor

According to few reports, the OnePlus Mini is reportedly powered by a MediaTek MTK6795T (Helio X10) chipset that features an octa-core processor with a processing speed of 2.2 GHz, along with PowerVR G6200 graphics.

RAM

The powerful processor is paired with 2GB of RAM.

OS

The OnePlus Mini might come preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Storage

It is expected to come with 32GB of internal memory and there is no information about smaller storage model or external storage.

Release Date

According to Vikas Agarwal, general manager, OnePlus India, has confirmed that the new smartphone is all set for release by the end of this year. We expect that the company to launch sometime in November in India.

Price

OnePlus Mini is considered as the cheaper and mid-range smartphone. It is expected that the smartphone to be priced somewhere between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 18,000.
