OnePlus Unveils OP Gaming Technology for OnePlus 15 Series: What Is It and How It Works?
OnePlus has unveiled its latest gaming technology, OP Gaming Core, which addresses key challenges in mobile gaming. By integrating advanced chip-level optimisations with robust hardware and smart software tools, it enhances Android gaming experiences significantly. This innovation sets a new standard for performance in the industry.
The OP Gaming Core introduces an industry-first chip-level technology tailored for gaming scenarios. Developed with over 20,000 lines of original code and supported by 254 gaming-optimisation patents, this technology redefines gaming performance from the chip level upwards.

OP Gaming Core: Intelligence at the Chip Level
Central to this is the OnePlus CPU Scheduler, which analyses gaming workloads to optimise hundreds of potential load points that hinder critical task execution. This approach reduces CPU instructions for key tasks by up to 22.74%, significantly lowering both CPU load and power consumption during gameplay.
The CPU Scheduler employs a self-developed chip energy consumption model designed specifically for gaming patterns. It replaces the traditional Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) with intelligent computing resource allocation, eliminating scheduling delays and resource conflicts while ensuring consistent computing power for critical tasks.
Devices featuring the OP Gaming Core offer industry-leading per-frame power consumption control while maintaining a stable 120fps experience in popular games with minimal frame rate fluctuations. This greatly improves power efficiency and thermal management for sustained superior performance. Working alongside the CPU Scheduler is OnePlus' next-generation HyperRendering technology, representing an evolution in high-frame-rate rendering solutions built on years of technical expertise.
Next-Gen HyperRendering: Enhanced Visuals
Next-Gen HyperRendering reconstructs the GPU rendering pipeline at the chip's core level, achieving an 80% improvement in per-frame rendering efficiency through optimised Vulkan driver-layer instruction logic. Algorithmic advancements enable OP Gaming Core with Next-Gen HyperRendering to maximise GPU module utilisation within flagship SoCs, integrating native rendering and frame interpolation processes directly through the main chipset.
This architectural approach eliminates latency traditionally associated with dedicated interpolation chips, delivering a significant leap in user experience. The synergy of these technologies allows true concurrent high-frame-rate and high-visual-fidelity gameplay. Even in demanding open-world scenarios, near-native visual quality is maintained with near-zero additional latency from frame interpolation.
OP Performance Tri-Chip: Hardware Excellence
The OnePlus Performance Tri-Chip introduces a comprehensive full-link hardware solution comprising three physical chips: Performance Chip, Touch Response Chip, and Wi-Fi Chip G2. Together, they overcome previous performance limitations at the hardware level, enhancing device capability while optimising user experience.
The Performance Chip integrates the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform with OP Gaming Core out of the box, ensuring peak performance dedicated to gaming scenarios. The Touch Response Chip accelerates touch processing offloaded from the main SoC, supporting a 330Hz touch sampling rate along with an ultra-high 3200Hz instantaneous sampling rate.
OP FPS Max: High-Frame-Rate Ecosystem
The new Wi-Fi Chip G2 features advanced RF modules and enhanced algorithms like SmartLink to improve network connectivity in weak signal environments. It optimises connection stability and reduces stutter under challenging conditions by prioritising gaming traffic for smooth gameplay.
After three years of development, OnePlus introduces OP FPS Max - a complete high-frame-rate gaming solution designed for future needs. This innovation aligns with OnePlus' vision that mobile gaming's future lies in fluid high-frame-rate experiences. While 120fps is now standard, OnePlus aims to deliver even more immersive gameplay experiences.
OP FPS Max combines hardware excellence, software optimisation, and ecosystem collaboration. It features a customised 165Hz display offering true native 165fps support while OP Gaming Core ensures consistently smooth performance through chip-level optimisation. Enhanced touch response algorithms and connectivity improvements further elevate the experience.
The technology already supports seamless 165fps gameplay across multiple popular titles. These innovations will be available on the upcoming OnePlus 15 series devices. The OnePlus 15 is scheduled to arrive in India on November 13.
