OnePlus has released a new version of its foldable smartphone in India. The new OnePlus Open Apex Edition features a vegan leather finish and dark red shade titled Crimson Shadow. The foldable also comes in a sole 16GB/1TB configuration. The new Apex Edition pays homage to the iconic Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition.

The phone features a vegan leather back cover with a diamond-like pattern and an orange accent on the Alert Slider. The camera dial is highlighted by a light-reflective CD pattern, enclosed in a glass dome. The Apex Edition represents OnePlus's highest-end foldable phone to date, combining advanced materials and design elements.

The foldable also comes with an independent security chip and an industry-first VIP mode. The independent security chipset has also been certified for CC EAL5+, and the NFC security chipset for CC EAL6+ and EMVCo, guaranteeing an exceptional level of security beyond all expectations.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition introduces an industry-first VIP mode, accessible via the Alert Slider. This mode deactivates all microphones and cameras, locking the security chip to ensure a highly secure and private environment. The phone also comes with AI Eraser and AI Smart Cutout features.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition price in India is set at Rs 1,49,999 for the sole 16GB/1TB model. The handset comes in a single Crimson Shade. The OnePlus Open Apex Edition will go on sale in India through Amazon, OnePlus.in, OnePlus Experience Stores, and offline partners including Reliance Digital, Bajaj, Croma, Vijay Sales and more starting August 10 at 10:00 am IST.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition Specifications

The OnePlus Open features a 7.82-inch 2K Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED primary display with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and up to 2,800 nits of peak brightness. The external display is a 6.31-inch 2K LTPO 3.0 Super Fluid AMOLED, matching the refresh rate and brightness of the primary screen.

Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and an Adreno 740 GPU, the device is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The OnePlus Open runs on OxygenOS 13.2 based on Android 13. The handset is equipped with a dual-cell 4,800mAh battery that supports 67W SuperVOOC charging via USB Type-C.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus Open sports a Hasselblad-branded triple camera setup.
