OnePlus Open Design Officially Teased in new Video: Will be rebranded Oppo Find N3
After several teasers and rumours, we finally have the first official look at the OnePlus Open. The OnePlus Open will debut as the company's first foldable smartphone, with rumours suggesting that the device could be unveiled as early as this month.
However, ahead of any official launch date, the OnePlus Open has showed up in video from popular YouTuber Unbox Therapy. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau makes an appearance in the video to talk about the upcoming OnePlus Open foldable smartphone.

OnePlus Open Design Confirmed
Lau goes into detail about the hinge design of the OnePlus Open, where he confirms that the company holds 35 patents. In a test demonstrated with a sheet of paper, the OnePlus Open is shown to close without any hinge gap.
The video shows the sheet of paper trapped inside the OnePlus Open and the device being lifted by said sheet of paper, which doesn't slide off. While this does reveal the design of the OnePlus Open, it doesn't give us a look at the device's camera bump as it is hidden behind what appears to be a huge sheet of cardboard or a plastic cover.

According to the video, the OnePlus Open's hinge has 31 percent less components than the Oppo Find N2, which helps reduce its size by 37 percent and makes it lighter. Previous reports have suggested that the OnePlus Open will be remodeled on the Oppo Find N3.
OnePlus Open to be rebranded Oppo Find N3
Despite being a first-generation product, Lau believes the OnePlus will bring the "best phone to the race". The OnePlus boss also promises a quick and smooth foldable experience on the OnePlus Open. The video shows the OnePlus Open in what appears to be a green color finish and if we haven't mentioned it earlier, the device does have an alert slider.
Moreover, Lau also said that the OnePlus Open was co-developed by teams from OnePlus and Oppo, with each bringing their unique expertise to the table. This further strengthens the rumor that the OnePlus Open will be a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N3, the former of which could be meant for international markets and the latter limited to China.
The OnePlus Open is also expected to launch in India as the device was recently spotted in the hands of Indian actress Anushka Sharma. Pete Lau also hinted that OnePlus doesn't have any plans for a flip smartphone yet. In Lau's view, the people who buy OnePlus devices aren't the ones interested in flip smartphones.
